Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit:
- Candidates should be at least 18 years old and no older than 42 years on the recruitment date.
Educational Qualifications:
- Soldier General Duty (GD):
- Must have passed 10th grade with at least 45% marks overall and 33% in each subject. If the board uses a grading system, a minimum of D grade (33-40%) is required in each subject, and an overall C2 grade.
- Soldier Clerk:
- Must have passed 12th grade (any stream: Arts, Science, or Commerce) with at least 50% in each subject. Also, 50% marks in English and Maths/Accounts/Book Keeping in 12th grade are required.
- Soldier Tradesman (Except Housekeeper & Mess Keeper):
- Must have passed 10th grade. There’s no overall percentage requirement, but you must have at least 33% in each subject.
- Soldier Tradesman (Housekeeper & Mess Keeper):
- Must have passed 8th grade. Again, there’s no overall percentage requirement, but at least 33% is needed in each subject.
Documents Required With Application
If you’re attending the rally, make sure you carry these documents:
- Educational Certificates: Originals and photocopies of your 8th, 10th, or 12th pass certificates.
- Identity Proof: Aadhaar card, Voter ID, or any other valid ID proof.
- Photographs: Recent passport-sized photos (keep multiple copies, usually around 4-5).
- Domicile Certificate: Proof that you belong to the state or region.
- Caste Certificate: If applicable (EWS, OBC, ST, SC categories).
- Character Certificate: Issued by a recognized authority.
- Unmarried Certificate: If applicable, stating you are unmarried.
- Police Verification Certificate: To confirm you have no criminal background.
- Relation Certificate: If applying based on a relation in the force.

Selection Process
For the posts of Soldier (General Duty), Soldier (Clerk), and Tradesmen, the selection will happen in the following stages:
- Physical Standards Test (PST): Checking if you meet the required physical measurements.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Testing your physical fitness.
- Medical Examination: A medical check-up to ensure you’re healthy.
- Trade Test: A skill test based on the job you’re applying for.
- Written Exam: A test to check your knowledge.
- Document Verification: Checking all your documents for accuracy.
The final merit list will be made based on your total marks in the written exam and the Physical Efficiency Test (PET).
Territorial Army 2024 Exam Pattern
- Only candidates who pass the Physical and Medical Exams can take the written exam.
- The exam will have multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
- The difficulty level will match the knowledge expected from 8th or 10th grade.
- The exam will last 2 hours.
- The question paper will be available in both English and Hindi.
- There will be no negative marking for wrong answers.
To pass, you need at least:
- 32 marks for Soldier (General Duty) and Soldier Tradesmen.
- 40 marks for Soldier Clerks.
