Eligibility Criteria for Jk Set 2024:

  1. General Eligibility: You need at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in your Master’s degree from a recognized university or institution. If you’re in the SC/ST/PwD categories, you need at least 50% marks.
  2. Transgender Candidates: They can get the same fee and age relaxations as SC/ST/PwD candidates.
  3. Students Awaiting Results: If you’re still waiting for your Master’s degree results or if your exams have been delayed, you can still apply. However, you must pass your Master’s degree with the required marks within two years of the JK SET result to be eligible.
  4. Ph.D. Holders: If you completed your Master’s degree before September 19, 1991, you can get a 5% relaxation in the marks needed (from 55% to 50%).
  5. Subject Requirements: You should take the exam in the same subject as your Master’s degree. If your subject isn’t available in the JK SET, you can take the UGC-NET or UGC-CSIR test instead.
  6. Foreign or Non-Indian Degrees: If you have a degree or diploma from outside India, check if it’s equivalent to an Indian Master’s degree with the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). If you qualify for JK SET, you’ll need to provide an equivalence certificate from AIU after the results are announced.

How to Fill Out the Jk Set 2024 Online Form?

  1. Visit the University of Jammu’s or JKSET’s official website. Find the link for JKSET/LASET and click on “How to Apply” to read the instructions. Then click “Apply Now.”
  2. Choose your Union Territory (J&K or Ladakh) and category. Pay the exam fee online using your credit/debit card or net banking, and save the payment receipt. Note down the Transaction Reference Number for later.
  3. Use the Transaction Reference Number to register. Upload a recent photo and your signature. Make sure your photo (in jpg/jpeg format, less than 50KB) shows your full face against a white background. Your signature should also be in jpg/jpeg format and less than 50KB.
  4. Complete the application form with accurate information. Make sure to specify your category (like UNRESERVED, SC, ST, etc.).
  5. Select your exam center and the subjects you want to appear for. Save the Application Number given to you.
  6. Check all the details on the form. If everything is correct, click “Submit.” If there are any mistakes, fix them before submitting.
  7. After submitting, print a copy of your filled form and keep it for your records.
