UPSC Pre Exam Pattern 2024

In the UPSC Pre Exam 2024, candidates need to take two mandatory papers. These papers are multiple-choice type and are answered using OMR sheets. Each paper is worth 200 marks and candidates have 2 hours to complete each one.

You can answer the questions in either Hindi or English.

Paper 1 is called General Studies and it’s important because it’s used to determine the cut-off marks.

Paper 2 is called CSAT. It’s also important, but you just need to score 33% on this paper to be eligible for the overall cut-off. It’s more about qualifying than getting a high score.

If you answer a question incorrectly, you’ll lose 1/3rd of the marks assigned to that question.

So, make sure to prepare well and answer accurately to increase your chances of passing the exam.
